Come, all you who have wandered
far from the path,
who have separated yourselves
A banquet is prepared for you in the
heart's Secret Room.
There you will find the way home;
a welcome ever awaits you!
Even as you acknowledge the times
you have erred,
the forgiveness of the Beloved
will envelop you.
Call upon the Beloved when fear
when you feel overwhelmed;
The Eternal Listener will heed
you will find strength to face
Befriend all that is within you,
discover the Secret Room in
Then will abundant blessings enter
your home; and,
you will welcome the Divine Guest
who is ever with you.
Psalms For Praying, An Invitation to Wholeness by Nan C. Merrill. 2004, New York, The Continuum International Group, Inc
I've carried fear all my life; fear about being hurt, crushed, pushed away, abandoned. Paralyzing fear, not able to breathe, make sure not to make a sound. Wanted to run away, but where, where would be safe? Couldn't cry, it wasn't safe. No where to turn. Wanted to end it all, jump in front of an on-coming subway in the bowels of the city. Instead stuck my feet to the middle of the platform. Thought about other means -- pills, iffy, slitting wrists, questionable. With the gun rights being argued, I thought of a gun, but I am a pacifist, never owned one, never will. I thought there are better ways to dealing with fear. Affirmations give relief, the Breath Prayer is very helpful and gratitude helps to develop perspective. When things were really bad like a boil coming to a head and I couldn't write nor pray, not even use affirmations, I turned inward like I do in the Quaker silent meeting for worship and waited for the Still Small Voice to speak to me. The Holy Spirit gave alternate words to the Lord's Prayer, seems like I needed to find the depths of forgiveness and love. Today fear may rear its end, gratefully it has shrunk into an irritant under foot.
NOTE: TNE LINK IN MY BLOGS POSTS THAT TAKE YOU TO A PAGE FOR REQUESTING PRAYERS IS NOT MY DOING. WILL TRY TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED WITH WEEBLY. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND PATIENCE.
