In seeking deeper understanding and discernment for my own life, I find myself asking friends and those intimate to me, "How do you understand the Holy Spirit?
Please do leave your personal understanding of the Holy Spirit in the comments section. Thank you. Be well and peace be with you. Judy
In 1987 I started compiling little booklets entitled "In the Manner of the Lord's Prayer", each measuring 4"x 5.5". Each booklet of prayers included 12 prayers, all written in the manner of Jesus' prayer. All told, there were four booklets published. The last one in 1990.
The prayers came out of post trauma from early childhood abuse and neglect. In my forties while working on my doctorate, I began experiencing flashbacks during the night time. I was terror stricken, afraid to move, afraid to pray in my own words. During one of those episodes, I was nudged with the notion that I could use the Lord's Prayer by holding each word or phrase in the silence of God's Presence. I was blessed by being given other words that spoke from my heart.
In time, I began sharing these prayers in the little booklets. Many people were blessed with the sense of hope and above all God's love.
I coupled each prayer with Bible verses. Here is one of the first prayers:
I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of peace and truth. [Jeremiah 33:6]
Divine Healer who is part of the great I Am,
may you be known and loved.
As you transform our lives
we will become people
who live in the Spirit.
Give us this day what we need to be healed,
and release us from the brokenness and pain
we have brought others,
as we release those who have hurt us.
Lead us not to a returning to our former ways,
but do deliver us from deceit and corruption.
For yours is the place of healing, love,
and sanctity forever.

Thankfully, a season to re-commit to living God's love in the world, following and walking with Jesus, yes, re-birth.
I must admit that I am very discouraged with the changes that our government is making and how those changes are impacting our lives and those around the world. There are times when I want to give up - yes, depression and grief. Yet hope keeps springing up as I emerge myself in God's creation. The sight and the singing of our feathered friends, bring joy to my heart. I gaze upon the mountains at sunrise and sunset, the beauty of it all.
In prayer, I am thankful, I stop and rest quietly, listening for the Still Small Voice Within. And sometimes there are words or images that open to me bringing encouragement.
Beloved One, guide me in your ways of peace and love, fill my heart with hope and gladness, In your name I pray. Peace, peace
Where is peace? More than any previous time on earth, we are in and surrounded by multi crises which are threatening our very existence. Turning inward to listen to God's message, I sit silently, quieting my mind, and turn to the scriptures to speak to me. And then I journal.
Psalm 34:14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Journaling: I open my journal and write the scripture, then I start writing free flow, not paying attention to spelling, grammar or sentence structure.
I write in prayer form. My words might be something like this-
Lord, I do not think of myself as doing evil. How am I to understand this scripture? Am I somehow responsible for evil being done? How am I to seek peace and pursue it? Open my eyes and my heart to your peace.
What you write is likely to be different. What is your prayer? Please share with me.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.
Journaling: My prayer writing - Jesus, I am weary and I need rest. Let me feel your gentle love and peace in my heart. My life and the world is so troubled. Take my hand and lead me in your ways. Fill me with your peace.
What is your prayer? Please share with me.
Blessings my friends, Judy
Crying out means to involve your mind, body, soul, your very being. Find your voice through the use of scripture.
Crying out for the Presence of God in your life. What is the deepest need you have? Do you need healing and transformation in your life? Are you imprisoned? Are you experiencing trauma or post trauma? Yearning for the Presence of the Lord is spoken about in the Bible.
Are you troubled by your past?
The Lord's Prayer. Pray the words Jesus gave us and allow the Holy Spirit to inspire youth new words and phrases for the traditional ones. You will be surprised what you learn, how you are helped. Write the words in your journal. You will be led to many places in the Bible and to many names for God.
How are the suggestions helpful to you? What have you discovered? Please share with me your thoughts, prayers in the comment section. Blessings, Judy
